Introduction

Layout marking system V704M This CNC controlled marking system with 9 axes is an extremely fast and efficient machine to mark structural profiles with layout lines and part numbers. With its 4 marking units it is possible to mark profiles on all sides. Each marking unit is equipped with 2 servo-controlled axes to realize fast and accurate positioning.

Measuring system

The V704M is equipped with the integrated roller feed length measuring system for fast and accurate positioning. The feeder roll system offers flexibility in lay-out configuration, requires less floor space than a feeder truck and “unlimited” beam lengths can be processed.
By installing the V704M separately after a sawing, drilling and / or coping line each operation is performed without queuing delays or undesirable standstills.

High speed positioning

The marking units of the layout marking system are driven by high accuracy ball screws and servo motors, so very fast positioning speeds are achieved.

Layout marking

The V704M has 2 horizontal and 2 vertical marking units. Layout lines and part numbers can be placed on all 4 sides of structural profiles by milling with a special marking tool.

The following details are automatically placed on the profiles:

Layout lines for weld positions;
Part numbers on the weld positions;
Welding information on the weld positions;
Layout lines for copes;
Bevelling information.

Interconnection with other Voortman systems

The combination of several machines in one automated line results in a minimum of handling and a complete process that can be controlled by one person. By only importing your production data once into the Voortman production database (VACAM), all processes can be performed fully automatically and error free.

Software

The software program “VACAM-Machine Edition” is installed on the control system. The control system can be integrated in the company’s network, so that DSTV- and DSTV+-data can be directly downloaded, from system files within the company database, to the drilling system. With this VACAM software it is possible to carry out different processes simultaneously, so each drill head on this machine can drill, change tools or measure the length of the tool independently.

Different types of cross transports

For effective material handling the marking system can be equipped with several types of cross transports. The infeed and outfeed cross transports are fitted with several detectors, enabling the automatic transport of structural profiles one by one from the infeed cross transport into the machine. The marked profiles are then automatically transported on to the outfeed cross transport.

Software

In VACAM, production data can be in- and exported in the format of DStV(+).

Besides the comfort of a Windows based environment VACAM has the advantage that authorized persons at all times can retrieve real-time information about the production progress. This can be done through an on-screen in-motion presentation of the system.

For a more detailed report the Production Data Exporter module can be used. This module allows real-time fabrication information sharing. In any case all operations and motions performed on the system are stored for sharing with any ERP, MRP, MIS and BIM software systems.
