Company “EMEK S.A.”, is one of the most successful and reliable steel fabricators in Greece. The company operates for about 40 years and currently, with 130 employees, they have the capability of processing over 24,000 tons of steel per year, in their facilities a few kilometers away from Athens.
In January 2010, Voortman installed a VB1550/V630M Sawing & Drilling System with the new VACAM software. The main goal was to increase production capacity and to improve quality, through succeeding reduced processing times and high machining accuracy.
Successful investment
Using the Voortman Sawing & Drilling System for over half a year, has proved to be a successful investment. The business activities of “EMEK S.A.” include all kinds of steel constructions such as steel buildings, steel bridges, wind-generator pylons, overhead cranes, silos, tanks, special constructions, etc. The company implements Quality Management Systems EN ISO 9001:2008 for their production and EN ISO 3834-2 for all welding processes (both Systems certified by TÜV NORD).
