Steel & Pipe Corporation is located in Sanford, North Carolina and was established in 1961 as both a Structural Steel Fabricator and Steel Service Center serving North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia fabricating jobs from one ton to twelve hundred tons. In mid 2010 Mr. Brian L. McRae, President was confronted with the decision to replace the beam punch line that had become unreliable. In September 2010, after almost twenty years of service and several cylinder rebuilds, the decision was made not to invest anymore time or money in the old machine.

In 2009 United Structural Works embarked on their expansion, building a new facility on a green field site in Congers, Rockland County, New York. United Structural Works now prides its self on being a state of the art facility with a 60,000 square feet fabrication plant and 10,000 square feet offices housing in-house estimators, fabricators, trucking, riggers and detailers working directly with Graitec/Advancesteel, STRUCAD and Tekla 3D detailing software to directly download to their new Voortman V613 drilling system and VB1050 sawing machine. Or as United Structural Works put it on their website: some of the toys.

Until recently, steel wholesaler and service provider ThyssenKrupp Schulte GmbH of Düsseldorf (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) still had its steel plates blasted by outside companies at its branch in Siegen. But the company has recently invested in a VSB2500 shot blasting system from Voortman and can now deliver more quickly, effectively and efficiently than ever before. Mr. Egon Bender, branch director at ThyssenKrupp Schulte is satisfied with the investment: "This has been a long-standing wish at our facility!"
