Gubi Smedeteknik - a manufacturer of farming wagons

Gubi Smedeteknik is a Danish manufacturer of wagons for the farming industry and currently sells 90% of its products in Denmark, of course with the desire to grow worldwide. The company currently employs 6 employees and has a workshop space of 700 m2.

Replacement of old cutting machine

Gubi was looking for a replacement of their old cutting machine and wanted to increase the quality of their products and their productivity. Besides, Gubi partly outsourced their production and wanted to cut these parts themselves. When they visited the EuroBLECH exhibition, the Voortman V304 plate cutting machine caught their attention. According to the owner, Mr. Gubi: “We came to the Experience Center and by that moment I was sold.”

Investment in Voortman V304 plate cutting machine

After the Experience Center visit, Gubi made the final investment in the Voortman V304. This V304 is equipped with High Definition Plasma with a bevel head, 2 oxy-fuel torches and a 6 meter long cutting table. The investment significantly increased Gubi’s productivity. Mr Gubi: “With the old machine I could run 250 mm per minute, now I run 2007 mm per minute.”

The 6 meter length of the cutting table and the low X-rails of the machine contribute to the productivity and user-friendliness as well: “When we are cutting on one end of the machine, we are on the other end taking off and laying new plates on the table. The rails are not so high so we can also put on plates with a big forklift. That is also one of the big things why we made an investment in Voortman.”

Top service

Service was another decisive factor for Gubi: “The service was also in top condition and that is very important when you’re buying a machine that has to run for 12 hours per day. A few days after the installation I ran on full production.”
