High speed carbide drilling for quality holes

CARBIDE DRILLING
The V200 is equipped with a VD40 drilling unit for high speed drilling and capabilities including counter sinking and thread-tapping. Carbide-tipped drills provide excellent advantages, like high speed drilling, perfect hole quality and a long lifetime before changing carbide tips. Create more holes with less tool changes for increased output and less machine downtime.

HEAVY TABLE LOAD FOR LARGE PLATE SIZES
The V200 has a heavy table load capacity for processing large plates. It can process plates up to 2.400 mm (8') length, 1.000 mm width (40"), 60 mm thickness (2-3/8"), and with a maximum weight of 600 kg (1325 lbs).

Meets current quality standards

AUTOMATIC UNDERSIDE DEBURRING
Deburring is an important part of the workflow in order to meet current quality standards and produce products that are immediately available after processing. The V200 comes equipped with an automatic deburring unit, which can reduce total costs per part up to 30% versus running deburring and edge finishing operations on precision parts manually. The deburring unit also help extend drill lifetime, since you don’t need to replace drill consumables with the first signs of burr from worn down drills. Products are ready for immediate handling without risk of injury from burrs.

benefits

Productivity

Rapid carbide drilling

The V200 is equipped with a VD40 drilling unit for high speed drilling and capabilities including counter sinking and thread-tapping. Carbide-tipped drills provide excellent advantages, like high speed drilling, perfect hole quality and a long lifetime before changing carbide tips. Create more holes with less tool changes for increased output and less machine downtime.

Productivity

Handle large plates

The V200 has a heavy table load capacity for processing large plates. It can process plates up to 2.400 mm (8') length, 1.000 mm (40") width, 60 mm (2-3/8") thickness, and with a maximum weight of 600 kg (1325 lbs).

Automation

Automatic underside deburring to meet quality standards

Deburring is an important part of the workflow in order to meet current quality standards and produce products that are immediately available after processing. The V200 comes equipped with an automatic deburring unit, which can reduce total costs per part up to 30% versus running deburring and edge finishing operations on precision parts manually. The deburring unit also help extend drill lifetime, since you don’t need to replace drill consumables with the first signs of burr from worn down drills. Products are ready for immediate handling without risk of injury from burrs.

Automation

Automatic toolchanger

The V200 is equipped with an automatic toolchanger with 8 positions for tools. It provides higher productivity since the machine doesn’t have to wait for an operator to manually change tools. This drilling unit is suited for HSS drills, carbide tipped drills, solid carbide drills, thread-tapping, countersinking, and centerpoint marking. New tools are measured when placed in the toolchanger to have an accurate length of the tool and for allowing the drilling unit to approach the material at full speed, eliminating touch sensing and saving time by measuring the tool length only once.

Automation

Automatically reposition long products to process full plates

The Voortman V200 can process plates with lengths up to 2,4 m (8'). After reaching the 1,4 m (4-1/2') table length limit, the product is automatically repositioned so the remainder of the plate can also be drilled. Hydraulic clamps prevent the plate from moving during the drilling process for more accurate drilling and an extended tool life, saving you production costs.

Features
and processes

Drilling, tapping, sinking

The main advantage of drilling is processing high quality holes in a diverse range of hole diameters and material thicknesses. To create bolted connections and to remove sharp edges of a drilled hole, thread-tapping and countersinking can be performed in one single process cycle. With automatic tool changing of carbide (tipped) drills, solid carbide drills, HSS drills, thread-taps, countersink and marking tools, manual labor is reduced and further processing simplified.

Centerpoint marking

Centerpoint marking provides you guidance during further processing like welding. It is the easiest and fastest way to mark your product and saves you time and costs. Centerpoints can also be used to mark where operations should be executed which are beyond the machine's limitations. The centerpoint marking process creates very small drilled dots, executed by the drilling unit on this machine.

Numbering

Numbering relieves your operators from writing down numbers and codes manually. This saves you a significant amount of time and costs. Numbering means processing numbers or codes on a product for further processing. It increases traceability of your profiles making your production less prone to errors.

VACAM Machine

Every machine is equipped with our in-house developed VACAM control software. All machines share the same “look-and-feel” which significantly reduces your learning curve. Within VACAM's open platform, production data can easily be exchanged with third party ERP and MRP software, providing up-to-date insight in the progress of your projects. VACAM provides a real-time graphical representation of your workflows and processes and analyses imported products instantly. The software automatically suggests the best solution for any foreseeable problems. This way, your production is not interrupted resulting in increased efficiency and runtime of the system.

VACAM in the office

The VACAM software also comes with an Office Edition. VACAM Office Edition runs in a similar way as VACAM Control and Operating software and is dedicated to preparing your products into producible items. The user interface is focused on the preparation activities and also provides real-time insights in the material load on the system enabling you to monitor your production process. With VACAM Office, production information is available throughout the entire company.

VACAD Editor

The integrated VACAD Editor enables your operators to improve output by creating products or quickly improve and correct the product. The interface is easy to understand with straight-forward functionality. Operators will be able to take full advantage of the VACAD Editor and VACAM after a few days with the Voortman trainers.

Easy operation

To enable constant and efficient production, VACAM offers your operators a comprehensive and easy-to-use interface. One of VACAM’s key features is the clear separation between work preparation, production and manual machine operation activities. For each mode of use, the required functions and data are available at your fingertips, enabling you to perform tasks in the right environment. VACAM Control software is known in the industry for its consolidated graphical representation of your production process. With VACAM, you have a clear overview of the process, production status and instant access to online assistance if required.

INTEGRATION IN YOUR WORKSHOP

DSTV or DXF files can be loaded into the V200’s VACAM control software, or imported at Works Preparation in VACAM Office edition and sent immediately out to the machine controls as well. Operations like layout marks or holes can be added or deleted with VACAD Editor, or complete new products can be created from scratch.

The operator loads the correct pre-cut product into the clamp by pressing it against the machine’s datum line and then presses the start button. The V200 completes all operations before sending the finished part back to the operator. Next product!

When round products or those that don’t have perfect or perpendicular edges for proper alignment with the datum line, a die can be created for fast loading and defining the zero point quickly and easily. The more the loading cycle is optimized, the better the machine’s uptime.
