CUT STEEL PLATE, TUBE AND STRUCTURAL PROFILES FASTER, CLEANER AND WELD-READY STRAIGHT OFF THE MACHINE
Voortman fiber lasers cover the full range of steel cutting needs, from flat plate and tubes to heavy structural beams, with machines built for continuous automated production.
Slow cutting speeds, rough edges that need grinding and high consumable costs eat into your margins on every job. Fiber laser cutting eliminates those steps entirely, delivering clean, weld-ready parts in a single pass with stable cut quality from the first part to the last. From compact plate formats to 36 metre cutting beds and heavy structural beams, Voortman has a fiber laser machine built for your production volume.
VOORTMAN V353:
LASER CUTTING OF LARGE FORMAT PLATES
The V353 is built for fabricators who need high plate cutting output without adding labour. Its modular bed handles plates up to 36 metres long, with automatic nozzle changing, gas mixing and plate buffering enabling continuous production across multiple thicknesses. Load the machine at the end of the day and come back to a stack of weld-ready parts the next morning.
- Type: Plate laser
- Material: Steel plates
- Processing range: Up to 75 mm thick
- Processing capabilities: 2D & bevel cutting (0–45°)
- Automation: Fully autonomous
- Features: Automatic nozzle changer, plate buffering, overnight cutting, drill-quality laser holes
VOORTMAN V342:
LASER CUTTING OF SMALL FORMAT PLATES
The V342 is built for companies that want reliable, high-quality plate cutting without unnecessary complexity. With up to 20kW of laser power, mixed gas cutting and an integrated cutting database that sets the right parameters automatically, operators get consistent results from day one. A straightforward machine for everyday production that delivers clean, weld-ready parts at high speed.
- Type: Plate laser
- Material: Steel plates
- Processing range: Up to 50 mm thick
- Processing capabilities: 2D cutting
- Automation: Semi-autonomous
- Features: Mixed gas cutting, automatic gas selection, resume cutting function, exchange table
VOORTMAN V845:
HEAVY-DUTY BEAM & PROFILE CUTTER
The V845 is built for fabricators who cut structural profiles, tubes and H/I beams at high volume. It handles round, square and rectangular profiles up to 2.4 tons with 3D bevel cutting up to 45°, delivering weld-ready parts in a single pass without grinding or secondary processing. Backside cutting and zero tailing ensure maximum material use with no waste.
- Type: Profile and tube laser
- Material: H/I profiles, round tubes, square and rectangular profiles
- Processing range: Up to 350 x 350mm (500mm with larger chuck option)
- Processing capabilities: 3D cutting, bevel cutting up to 45°, backside cutting
- Automation: Semi-automatic loading, automatic centering and calibration
- Features: 3-chuck design, zero waste tailing, remnant handling up to 800mm
WHY FIBER LASER CUTTING DELIVERS MORE FOR YOUR OPERATION
Fiber laser cutting outperforms traditional cutting methods on speed, cut quality and operating cost. Here is what that means for your production.
CLEAN, PRECISE CUTS WITH NO POST PROCESSING
Fiber laser cutting produces smooth, square edges with tolerances down to 0.05mm. Cut quality stays consistent from the first part to the last, with no slag, no grinding and no secondary drilling required up to execution class 3.
SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER THAN PLASMA
For the average plate thickness of 12mm, a Voortman fiber laser cuts 3.5 times faster than a standard plasma system in a realistic production mix. With a 20kW source that advantage reaches 2.8 times faster across a balanced spread of thicknesses up to 25mm. More laser power means higher feed speeds, faster pierce times and more finished parts per shift.
RUN PRODUCTION OVERNIGHT
Automatic nozzle changing, plate buffering and continuous job queuing allow the machine to run fully unmanned through the night. Load the machine at the end of the day and come back to a stack of finished parts the next morning without overtime or additional labour.
SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER OPERATING COSTS
Annual consumable costs for a fiber laser run around €2,000 compared to €10,000 to €15,000 for plasma, with maintenance costs of roughly €2,650 versus €3,800. Less downtime, fewer consumables and higher output per shift mean a lower cost per part from day one.
