Efficient automatic feed

Smart loading with automatic feeder

Automatic batch loading
Input cross conveyors can be fully loaded with corner profiles for an automatic, continuous production flow. When production files are loaded, the system automatically separates the first corner profile and transports it to the roller conveyor. An electrical system feeds material to the V505-160M. At the same time, your operator can work for longer periods to replenish the cross conveyor or other tasks, while the machine is supplied with sufficient material buffered on the infeed side.

Fully automated material feed
An electric material feeding system moves the corner profile forward and transports it to the measuring roller measuring system. This is a required unit in combination with the automatic feed cross conveyors and automatic output systems to fully automate the entire system. Even in basic V505-160M configurations, the powered material feeding system can simplify your operator's tasks and improve efficiency.

All machine components are mounted on one heavy-duty frame. This speeds up installation time and reduces the floor space of the V505-160M. The frame also offers first-class durability and reliability for all your stripping and angle profiling requirements.

Optimised cutting
The blades of the shears on the Voortman angle bar machines can be rotated and used on 4 sides, each with a different radius for the best cut quality. Each corner of the shears can be used to cut a specific range of angle profiles and the blade can be easily rotated and quickly locked in the correct position.

Automatic product unloading
An automatic unloading system can be added to the V505M punching and shearing machine to fully automate the production cycle. Using a dynamic conveyor belt, the short pieces enter a bin behind the shears. A motorised unit then moves the longer products to a tilting roller conveyor section, which can drop the products into one of two output positions.

Optimized shearing for better cut quality

The shear blades on Voortman’s angle lines can be rotated and used on 4 sides, each with a different radius to provide the best quality shear. Each corner of the shear can be used to cut a specific range of angle sizes, and the blade can be rotated with ease and locked quickly in the right position.

Automatic batch loading for longer unmanned operation

The infeed cross transports can be fully loaded with angles for an automatic, continuous production flow. When production files are loaded the system automatically separates the first angle and moves it towards the roller conveyor. A powered system feeds material to the V505-160M while your operator can work on refilling the infeed cross transport or other tasks for a longer period of time when the machine is stocked with enough material buffered on the infeed side.

Fully automated material infeed

A powered material infeed system moves the angle forward and transfers it to the roller feed measuring system. This is a required unit in combination with the automatic infeed cross transport and automatic outfeed systems to make the entire system fully automated. Even in basic V505-160M configurations adding the powered material infeed system can simplify your operator’s tasks and improve labor efficiency.

An automatic outfeed system can be added to the V505M punching and shearing machine to complete the fully automatic production cycle. The system has a liftable conveyor section for dropping short pieces behind the shear in a bin, and a motorized unit to release longer products from the machine on a tilting conveyor that can drop the parts in one of two outfeed positions.

Minimal manual tool changes

The V505-160M is equipped with two double punch units (one for each flange) and automatic punch selection, which prevents manual tool changes during production in most cases. This leads to higher productivity and less operator intervention.

A hydraulic part numbering unit comes standard with the V505M. The 36-character circular disc can be rotated to stamp part numbers and letters for easier identification during further production.

Voortman’s roller feed measuring system speeds up short movements in its angle machines – ideal for making clip angles. The V505-160M roller feed system can also process flat bars, adding another advantage to its already impressive capabilities.

Punching

Punching which is by far the cheapest and fastest process to create holes has a distinctive character compared to milling, drilling and cutting. Punching is allowed for most projects within certain boundaries and if your production parts show relatively little variation in thicknesses, hole sizes, shapes and material types, punching will likely be the most preferable process. Voortman punching machines have tool holders with multiple punches and dies, which increases versatility and hole quality and reduces your downtime due to tool changes.

Shearing

Shearing is compared to thermal cutting and sawing the fastest of the three processes offered by Voortman for trimming profiles and is only available on Flat & Angle processing machines. Where punching is the cheapest and fastest process for hole making, the same applies to shearing with regards to trimming profiles. In combination with a deburring machine, perfect results can be achieved and with or without post-processing, the surface created by shearing is acceptable for many applications.

Numbering

Numbering relieves your operators from writing down numbers and codes manually. This saves you a significant amount of time and costs. Numbering means processing numbers or codes on a product for further processing. It increases traceability of your parts making your production less prone to errors.

VACAM Machine

Every machine is equipped with our in-house developed VACAM control software. All machines share the same “look-and-feel” which significantly reduces your learning curve. Within VACAM's open platform, production data can easily be exchanged with third party ERP and MRP software, providing up-to-date insight in the progress of your projects. VACAM provides a real-time graphical representation of your workflows and processes and analyses imported products instantly. The software automatically suggests the best solution for any foreseeable problems. This way, your production is not interrupted resulting in increased efficiency and runtime of the system.

VACAM in the office

The VACAM software also comes with an Office Edition. VACAM Office Edition runs in a similar way as VACAM Control and Operating software and is dedicated to preparing your products into producible items. The user interface is focused on the preparation activities and also provides real-time insights in the material load on the system enabling you to monitor your production process. With VACAM Office, production information is available throughout the entire company.

VACAD Editor

The integrated VACAD Editor enables your operators to improve output by creating products or quickly improve and correct the product. The interface is easy to understand with straight-forward functionality. Operators will be able to take full advantage of the VACAD Editor and VACAM after a few days with the Voortman trainers.

One of VACAM’s key features is the clear separation between work preparation, production and manual machine operation activities.
