THE STORY
Karçel - steel fabrication
Karçel is a well-known Turkish steel structure factory which is owned by Kardemir Corporation. Karçel Incorporated was established in December 1998. The company, formerly known as "Karabuk Steel and Iron Establishment Steel Construction Plants", is located on an area of approximately 40.000 m2 and has been implementing the steel construction production both for the sizable investments in Turkey and International countries since the 1950's.
(Factory buildings, Power transmission lines, Bridges, Sport Halls, Prefabricated buildings etc.) Company Manager Mr. Kenan Sungur: "Our production consists of steel construction structures such as: steel bridges, factory building, power transmission lines, energy plants, antenna masts, cement factories, sport halls, prefabricated buildings etc. Current projects are steel bridges in Tajikistan, blast furnace for Kardemir Inc. in the Kardemir area and some steel construction halls in Turkey.
Our annual production reaches 15.000 tons per year."
Why Voortman?
Karçel A.Ş. invested in two machines; the Voortman V200 plate drilling system and the V505-160M punching and shearing system for flat and angle steel. Kenan Sungur explains: "Because our new customer orders required parts from angles and drilled plates we invested in two new machines. These machines run 2 shifts permanently all day long. Our purpose for these machines is to manufacture high quantity products (drilled plates or angle irons) as much as possible in a very short time.
Voortman is one of the most famous companies known in the world of steel processing technology. We had the opportunity to look into the Voortman machines at a technology fair in Turkey. We found all the features we are looking for in a machine in the Voortman machines. Generally, the specifications of the machines we are looking for are: manufacturing at high quality in a shortest time, durability and minimum expenditure."

We can reach the Voortman service department easily both by email and phone and the personnel coming from Voortman for installation of the machines were very good.
