THE STORY
Stahlbau Brehna - steel fabrication
Founded in 1995, Stahlbau Brehna purely focused on manufacturing in the first years. When Matthias Gabler joined the management in 2002, he changed the company’s portfolio. In collaboration with an engineering company named IPK, which is integrated into the corporate company group, they are now able to serve the customers’ needs completely. The main company activities consist of steel construction, steel construction for special constructions, turnkey construction and general contracting construction.
Plate processing investment
Stahlbau Brehna recently invested in expansion of their processing equipment. Having the best price/performance ratio they choose to invest in the Voortman V320 combined plate cutting and drilling system. “We achieve an average of 200% in capacity increase compared to the conventional production technology and next to that a much higher accuracy in the manufactured parts”, says Managing Director Matthias Gabler.
200% production increase
For production of all connection plates Stahlbau Brehna uses their brand new V320 plate processing system. The investment already pays off. Gabler: “We achieve an average of 200% in capacity increase compared to the conventional production technology and next to that a much higher accuracy in the manufactured parts. From an economic and technical point of view it makes sense to cut our plates with plasma up to 50 mm thick and from 50 mm and higher with oxy-fuel.
Therefore we choose to have both plasma and oxy-fuel cutting on this machine.”
Best price/performance ratio
Gabler: "During our search for a plasma and oxy-fuel cutting system we quickly found out that Voortman had the best price/performance ratio compared to other suppliers. Furthermore, there were some features in the V320 that supports our vision of flowing processes, for example the automatic discharge of the products. Voortman also took care of the installation, commissioning of the system as well as the training of our operator in a very professional way."
